5.2.1. Purge Data

 
The Purge Data utility feature is a powerful tool that enables you to clear specific data regarding the Win Accounting Stock Control Module
 
Purging data will influence your accounting reports, as well as accounting information, so it's important to understand the specific reasons for using this feature
 
It's recommended to make use of the Backup Stock Control* feature before running any of the Purge Data options, as this will enable you to revert back, should any incorrect data be mistakenly purged
 
Once data has been purged, restoring a backup is the only way to undo the data removal
 
This is an advanced, specialised option - Win Accounting cannot be held liable for any data loss brought about through the Purge Data feature

Purge Stock History

1. Purge Stock History
 
This utility feature can be run if you wish to reset all stock-related details for a specific period - or ALL Stock History for a selected company
 
Note: Purging Stock History data will influence your Accounting Reports
 
Select your desired period to purge, or select "All Periods" to purge all relevant stock history data
 
While there is no compulsory reason to have to purge stock history, this feature is useful in circumstances where you wish to start fresh, or start a new set of accounts, without having to re-add all the relevant stock/inventory-related details again

Purge Stock Batch Numbers

2. Purge Stock Batch Numbers
 
This utility feature can be run if you wish to reset the stock batch numbers for a specific user
 
Resetting Stock Batch Numbers will purge all existing batch numbers for the current user, allowing for batches to once again start at 1
 
While there is no compulsory reason to have to purge batch numbers, this feature is useful in circumstances where you wish to start fresh, or start a new set of accounts while still retaining all other relevant Stock Control data
